Was born in 1986 in Vancouver, currently lives in Istanbul and Berlin. After graduating from American Collegiate Insitute, he completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Sabanci University and graduate studies at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg. Holds a Ph.D. from Istanbul University and worked as a researcher at Princeton University. 

He is a professor, having taught courses on foreign policy and political history in universities. Author of four books, has many academic articles and newspaper columns.
